What better way to spend an evening then with some good food, good friends and a bottle or two of good wine?  Dinner parties are becoming more fashionable alternatives to going out on the town. Here are some can’t miss ideas for your next dinner party.
For the Girls: Here’s a more sophisticated spin on girl’s night in. Instead of camping out in front of the television watching Oprah, bucket of fat free ice cream in tow, why not throw a dinner party for the girls? Invite your closest gal pals, serve up rose champagne, decorate the place with pink flowers and bouquets. Make cupcakes for dessert. Get dressed up and play your favorite vintage records.
Murder Mystery: Someone has committed a murder and it’s up to your dinner party to figure out just who dunnit. Throwing a murder mystery dinner party is not as complicated as it sounds. You can purchase the mystery game either online or from party-novelty shops. Usually, there will be a CD containing plot details, although you can appoint someone to play the narrator. These games can last for hours, so remember to keep the wine flowing.
Movie Night: Throw a movie themed party. Have your guests dress up as their favorite silver screen characters. Serve a menu from the Godfather or Chocolat. Dust off your old projector and run old movie slides on a blank wall. Get some great movie soundtracks on the stereo.
Latin Night: Mojitos, margaritas and lots of salsa. A Latin night themed dinner party is great for summer. You can enjoy cocktails on the veranda and grill up some authentic Mexican spiced chicken. Decorate your place with paper lanterns in bright colors, buy some fresh cut flowers and place them in big glass jars and don’t forget to throw some salsa tunes on the radio. You could even invite a dance instructor to give salsa or samba lessons.
