In every city and town, there is the elite lineup of hotspots where everyone wants to be on a Saturday night.  But how does the average person get inside without being on the list?  For that matter, how does one get on the list?  It can be a tricky matter, gaining access to the VIP rooms and clubs where the in-crowd rules, but it’s actually not impossible for the average person to get in and enjoy.  Here are four ways to do it.

1. Find a friend who’s “in” and tag along.  The easiest way to get inside an exclusive club is to show up with a regular, someone who knows the ropes and has a reputation there.  Make a point of buying a couple of drinks for your friend and tipping the staff well.  Is it bribery?  Not quite — just appreciation.  You’ll make a lasting impression.

2. Make the most of your networking skills.  Any time you hear the name of some elite place you’ve been dying to get into, take note.  Do you have a friend who works there, or are you familiar with an investor?  It just takes one person and you can be put on the guest list in a matter of minutes.  It’s nothing for an employee or investor to do and you’ll have an ally from the start.

3. Find the alternate entrances.  I don’t mean a side door: every club and bar has special events that are open to the public or just require signing the list online.  It’s a good way to get your foot in the door and you’ll be free to party for as long as you want to stay.

4. Dress to kill and storm the gates.  Not everyone is in the know or has a spot reserved on the list.  The doorman or owner won’t refuse a small, stylish group, especially when beautiful women are involved.  The rule is: the more women the better, so invite all the ladies you can.  You’ll be hard to turn down.
